"The one that hath no music in himself...is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils." So says Shakespeare, whose texts, in the hands of Vaughan Williams, give us a ravishing tribute to the gift of music in our ears. This program, incoming Artistic Director JD Burnett's debut with Orpheus, collects choral works that venerate the human impulse to make and hear music. The choir's very namesake, Orpheus, is our inspiration. The program also includes works by Lassus, Britten, and Esmail.
Orpheus will be presenting this concert in person and also via live stream. View a digital concert program here.
